Electric cars constitute less than 1 percent of the global fleet: Aramco CEO
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Aramco, Yasser Al-Rumayyan, stressed that the energy transition requires strengthening all its sources, explaining that electric cars constitute less than 1 percent of the global fleet.
Al-Rumayyan made it clear during the 2022 International Petroleum Technology Conference in Riyadh on Sunday that oil and gas are part of the global energy transformation and will remain so for decades to come.
The activities of the conference were launched today with the participation of ministers, experts, and interested persons from 70 countries, and more than 300 international companies.
It includes 107 technical sessions, in which more than 800 scientific papers were presented, under the patronage of Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Minister of Energy, inaugurated the conference, which is being held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. It focuses this year on the topic of promoting global recovery through sustainable energy.
During the event, senior leaders in the energy sector in the region and the world will discuss shared visions on the latest developments and trends in the energy fields and current technologies that will shape the future of the energy sector.
