Although US President Joe Biden said that he had no “direct intentions” to visit Saudi Arabia, he did not rule out the possibility of seeing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as part of his efforts to strengthen Middle East relations.
The president is expected to visit Riyadh later this month, according to CNN and other news sites, signaling a reversal in his electoral agenda.
According to CNN, an American official said: In this situation, Biden will travel to Saudi Arabia, and our ties have just become stronger.
“I might meet with the Israelis and certain Arab nations. I expect, a visit to Saudi Arabia if I travel (to the Middle East), but I have no arrangements at the time,” Biden said, adding that he has been “involved in trying to work on how to build stability and peace in the Middle East.”
“We are anticipating developments here,” Biden said. “I want to ensure that we eliminate any prospect of a continuation of an insane conflict between Israel and the Arab countries,” he said.
