Army in Yemen launches wide-scale military operation in Abyan
According to a Yemeni source, southern Yemeni forces launched a military operation to rid the Abyan Governorate in the country’s southwest of terrorism.
The unnamed source told the “Yemen” satellite channel today that “the operation was launched in two directions: the coastal line and the central areas.” He went on to say that “drones belonging to the southern forces spotted crowds and fighting arrangements made by al-Qaeda elements in the Mojan mountains,” emphasizing that the southern forces are determined to enter the mountains and rid them of these elements.
It is worth noting that extremist elements detonated explosive devices on the coastline to obstruct the forces’ advance, but the forces were able to deal with them. Simultaneously, the southern forces advanced towards the central areas this morning, and the forces crossed “Naqil Al-Arqoub” towards “Lodar” and “Modiyah, “Al-Wadee'” in Abyan governorate’s north-east to spread and secure it
