Arab Tourism Organization Participates in ‘Saudi Tourism Guide Forum 2021’

The Arab Tourism Organization participated in the Saudi Tourism Guidance Forum 2021 via video call.

The official spokesman for the Arab Tourism Organization, Dr. Walid Ali Al-Hinnawi, explained that the organization has taken “digital transformation towards safe Arab tourism” as the slogan for “Arab Tourism Day” on February 25.

He pointed out that the repercussions of the global tourism industry, as a result of the Corona pandemic, leaves everyone searching for advanced technological solutions that are compatible with the negative reality imposed on this major industry.

He stressed that the tourism industry in the near future will not be evaluated in quantitative terms about the number of tourists, but rather will be evaluated in terms of the services provided to tourists and the extent of their quality or technological development.

Tourists should adhere to the health measures that must be provided through services provided from the arrival of the tourist until the implementation of all his tourism programs and his departure.

The digital transformation has become a strategic goal that our Arab world must strive to achieve, to be in the ranks of developed countries in this industry, to get what it deserves through the return of safe tourism.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the numbers and statistics that the digital transformation in aviation, travel and tourism is expected to contribute towards generating added values for the tourism sector may reach $305 billion during the period from 2020 to 2025, in addition to creating indirect benefits of $700 billion by minimizing the impact of environmental, safety and security promotion.

The tourism sector is expected to witness a selective transition to existing jobs, offset by the creation of new job opportunities that depend on the skills of the new digital age.
