American Golfer Catlin Wins 2024 Saudi Open in Riyadh
On Saturday, American John Catlin was crowned champion of the Saudi Open Golf Championship, presented by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The championship concluded its competitions at the Riyadh Golf Club course.
Catlin was able to lead the tournament over the course of four days after finishing with seven shots, scoring 24 points under par, to present himself as a new champion of the tournament. The value of the first prize amounted to 180 thousand dollars, while the value of the prizes for the entire tournament amounted to one million dollars.
The American player said, while speaking to the tournament media center, after the victory: “I am tired, but I am very happy. It is a very special thing to finish the successive events that carry the cup. It was just a special week, and I feel very lucky to be the champion. The tournament was very well organized. “Fantastic from start to finish. We were looked after amazingly, the people were so friendly and the hospitality was amazing. I look forward to returning in the future.”
Catlin added: “I hope that my victory shows the fans that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. I have dreamed of being a professional golfer since I was eight years old and I continued to work hard. I did not let anything stand in the way of what I wanted to do, and I would say that to anyone.” Someone who, if you want to follow in my footsteps, you have to do your best, be willing to sacrifice, and then great things can happen.”
