Al-Sheikh announces holding of a historic match in KSA in honor of Maradona

Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, the chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, said that a historic match will be held in honor of Argentine superstar Diego Armando Maradona during the Riyadh season, which begins this month.

Al-Sheikh published a video clip, through his “Twitter”, on Monday evening, for Maradona’s historic goal against England in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

His family commented: “A match for history and once in a lifetime… Only in the Riyadh season… the Maradona Cup between Barcelona and Boca Juniors.”

He continued, “Our date is on November 25. Legends do not die. Imagine more.”

The match between Argentina and England was remarkable because it took on a political dimension as a result of the Malwy war between the two countries, and it was preceded by a verbal battle between the two sides.

But Maradona was able to resolve the result of the confrontation “the battle” alone on the field for the benefit of his country’s “Tango” team, by scoring two goals.

It is noteworthy that Diego Maradona led Argentina to win the World Cup the last time in the World Cup in Mexico 1986.
