The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers and Envoy for Climate Affairs, Mr. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, received at the Ministry’s office in Riyadh today a delegation of senior experts and representatives of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The meeting is being organized by the Arab-German Friendship Association and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
During the reception, relations between the two countries were reviewed, and opportunities for joint cooperation in all fields were discussed, in addition to exchanging views on topics of interest. The reception was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom, Mr. Michael Kindsgrabe.
Saudi Arabia is Germany’s second most crucial trading partner in the Arab world, following the UAE. Germany ranks fourth in supplying goods to Saudi Arabia. In 2021, Saudi Arabia stood 38th in terms of importance as a trading partner for Germany. It also holds the second position among importers of German goods from the Arab world, with imports totaling €4.107 billion.
Finally, the balance of trade exchange between the two countries tends in favor of Germany, and Saudi exports to Germany amount to 816.84 million euros, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA). It is worthy to note that the joint cooperation committee between the two countries in the economic and technical field was established in 1977.
