Inclusion of G20 Group
The meetings also include the fourth gathering of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 group. It was last held in Marrakech, Morocco, from October 9 to 15, 2023.
Composition of Saudi Delegation
The IMF, World Bank meeting delegation includes key Saudi officials. Namely, Ayman bin Mohammed Al-Sayari, the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank, is a member, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, joins the team.
Additionally, Abdulmohsen bin Saad Al-Khalaf, Assistant Minister for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations, Riyadh bin Mohammed Al-Khurayif and Thamer bin Saleh Al-Jared, Deputy Ministers for International Relations and Macro-Fiscal Policies are key members who also participated.
The delegation also includes experts from the Ministry of Finance, Saudi Central Bank, Saudi Fund for Development, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.
Discussions, Themes at Meetings
The IMF, World Bank meetings discuss various global issues including sustainable development, poverty eradication, and forecasts for the global economy. They also cover current financial, economic, as well as matters related to the governance review of the Fund and the Bank.
Annual Meetings in Morocco
These annual meetings bring together central bank governors, finance ministers, CEOs from the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations. They focus on discussing the most significant developments in global financial affairs.
