Afforestation technologies forum to be held in Riyadh on May 29-31
The International Exhibition and Forum for Afforestation technologies will be held in Riyadh from May 29 to May 31, 2022 AD, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister. The forum is organized by the National Center for the Development of Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for the Development of Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification, thanked His Highness the Crown Prince for sponsoring the International Exhibition and Forum on Afforestation Technologies on this occasion.
He mentioned His Highness the Crown Prince’s support for efforts to protect the vegetation cover locally, regionally, and globally through ambitious afforestation initiatives like the Green Saudi Initiatives and the Green Middle East, as well as the global initiative to reduce land degradation and enhance the protection of wild habitats to restore land and prevent and stop degradation, and the global initiative to preserve the environment.
A set of comprehensive and integrated axes related to afforestation and its technologies and combating desertification are included in the exhibition and international forum for afforestation techniques, which include afforestation, combating desertification, irrigation techniques, water sources and technologies, nurseries and seeds, recycling of environmental waste, soil, environmental monitoring and protection, and forest development and investment.
The International Forum for Afforestation Technologies aims to provide a platform for government agencies, semi-governmental organizations, bodies, companies, and non-profit organizations to become targeted stakeholders in the fight against desertification and increasing vegetation cover areas, as well as highlight the center’s pioneering role in developing vegetation cover, and to see the most important researches, studies, and technologies in the field.
The International Forum and Exhibition on Afforestation Technologies aims also to achieve a number of investment objectives, including highlighting environmental investment opportunities, increasing attendees’ knowledge of them, concluding agreements and memorandums of understanding, and demonstrating the benefits and aspects of support for various opportunities. It also creates a communication channel to form local and research relationships with universities and research institutes from across the world.
