Pomegranate cultivation dates back hundreds of years. The relationship between the farmer and the pomegranate tree is like a lifelong journey that begins from childhood until old age.
Traditional cultivation methods have evolved throughout ages. In the past, farmers used to transport crops by camel to neighboring markets. However, in the present time, farmers use advanced agricultural practices and transportation methods.
Notably, pomegranate contains antioxidants, vitamins C and K, fiber, and iron _ nutrients essential for boosting immunity and supporting heart health.
Pomegranate season serves as a vital source of income for several farmers and families, fostering markets and attracting visitors through festivals organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture.
Currently, the region gears up for various festivals, held across governorates such as Sarat Abidah, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Al-Farsha, Balqarn, Ahad Rufaidah, Balhmar, Al-Ghail, as well as Balsamer.
