Jordan will host a joint meeting with Syrian and US officials on Tuesday to discuss support for Syria’s reconstruction after more than a decade of civil war and the fall of Al-Assad’s regime, according to Reuters.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the meeting would bring together Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani and the U.S. Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack.
Notably, the meeting “will discuss the situation in Syria and ways to support the process of rebuilding Syria on foundations that guarantee its security, stability and sovereignty,” the statement added.
Syria signed 12 agreements worth $14 billion this month, including a $4 billion agreement with Qatar’s UCC Holding to build a new airport.
Moreover, the agreements included a $2 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates’ National Investment Corporation to establish a subway in Damascus.
