Saudi Delegation Visits Modern Transportation Technology Companies in China
A delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has visited numerous Chinese companies specialized in modern mobility technologies, self-driving vehicles, and bus manufacturing in China, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In collaboration with several entities concerned with transportation services in the Kingdom, the delegation discussed how to strengthen the Saudi-Chinese relations in modern transportation technologies.
The visit basically aims at exchanging expertise and sharing pioneering global experiences in order to activate modern and environmentally friendly transportation patterns.
During the meetings, they also delved into various mechanisms to expand the use of self-driving vehicles in the Kingdom in order to achieve the ambitious objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services.
Furthermore, the delegation met with representatives from Yutong, a pioneering company for the manufacture of buses and other vehicles.
The delegation also visited the headquarters of WeRide, a leading innovator in self-driving systems for passenger and goods transport.
Moreover, they were briefed on the Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit (ART) system developed by Norinco—a semi-self-driving electric transport system combining the efficiency of a tram with the flexibility of a bus, boasting a capacity of over 300 passengers per vehicle.
