KSA to Start Localizing Dentistry Professions by 35%

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, announced the start of localizing dentistry professions by 35%. This will be effective from March 10, 2024. The localization ratios will be applied to private sector establishments employing 3 or more workers in dentistry professions, reported Saudi News.

The decision to localize dentistry professions is part of the ministries’ efforts to provide more stimulating and productive job opportunities for Kingdom’s citizens.

Objectives Behind Localizing Dentistry Professions

The Ministry of Health also clarified that it would monitor and implement this decision. This decision to localize dentistry professions aims to increase participation in the labor market. The “Ministry of Health” will oversee its implementation in line with labor market requirements and the specialization of dentistry professions.

It also confirmed that private sector establishments would benefit from incentives and support programs offered by the human resources and social development system to assist in employing Saudis. These include support for the recruitment process and finding suitable candidates, support for necessary training and qualification processes. Moreover, there will be support for employment and job continuity.

Localizing Aviation Professions

Moreover, the second phase of localizing licensed aviation professions has come into effect 6 days ago, in private sector facilities. Five or more workers in one of the targeted aviation professions work in these facilities, reported News 24.

The professions targeted in the second phase of the decision include a flight attendant and a fixed-wing pilot. Workers in the targeted aviation professions must obtain a professional accreditation certificate provided by the General Authority of Civil Aviation. The ministry explained that the decision is part of its efforts to provide stable jobs for citizens.

Moreover, the ministry is keen on implementing the second phase of localizing licensed aviation professions. It is keen on enabling private sector facilities to access all the support and employment programs offered by the Human Resources and Social Development ecosystem. These programs will assist them in employing and attracting national talents.
