Flowers of Almond Trees Decorate Al Bahah’s Mountains
Flowers of Almond trees are decorating Al Bahah’s Mountains as the white blossoms are spreading among the green nature in the mountains of the Al Bahah region.
The appearance of the white blossoms marks a seasonal natural phenomenon associated with the blooming season of almond trees.
At the end of winter, blossoming almonds dot the verdant heights of the Al-Bahah’s mountains like shimmering pearls.
Information about Almond
Almond trees can withstand various climatic conditions and they do not require a lot of water. Amazingly, they rely on nature’s watering without human intervention.
Moreover, each almond tree produces around 5 to 6 kilograms per season. It is worth mentioning that almond prices vary throughout the season.
At the beginning of the season, prices increase and decrease in the middle before rising again towards the end.
Once almonds reach maturity, the dried almond price with the shell ranges from 70 to 100 Saudi Riyals.
Almond Trees Cultivation Season
Saleh bin Saeed Awon, a farmer in Al Bahah region highlighted that the tree cultivation begins in early spring, known as the blooming season.
This season is characterized by the blooming of almond trees, transforming the landscape into a spectacle of white blossoms.
Almond Trees Cultivation Places
Saeed Al-Madeni, Director of Agriculture in Al Bahah region, emphasized that the cultivation of almond trees takes place in the highlands of Sarawat in Al Bahah area. They are also found in Baljurashi, Al-Mandaq, and Al-Qura.
Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Efforts to Cultivate Almond
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in the Al Bahah region contributed to increasing almond cultivation.
The ministry increased Almond cultivation by offering investment opportunities in the Almond City project with an area exceeding 1.5 million square meters.
Moreover, the ministry has worked on enhancing farmers’ knowledge through workshops. It has supported almond tree sustainability through programs provided to farmers.
