3 serious scams hit “WhatsApp” in a month

Despite what the developers of “WhatsApp” say about the app’s security, a recent technical analysis revealed that it was subjected to three frauds in August, resulting in the compromise of hundreds of thousands of accounts.

According to the British newspaper “Sun” (Saturday), cybersecurity experts warned of a modified version of the software that includes functions that the original app does not have.

the modified version is loaded with malware that exposes the user to penetration, which must be carefully checked for the permissions requested by the applications.

Earlier that month, British technologists warned of fraudulent messages involving multiple scams aimed at stealing their money, and lastly underlined the importance of being cautious when opening links containing bogus shipments that direct victims to a fraudulent website.
