In a recent video that went viral, renowned Yemeni blogger and influencer Fedaa’deen Yahya expressed his outrage over comments made by US envoy to Syria Tom Barrack. Last month, Barrack described journalists’ behavior as “animalistic and uncivilized,” a remark that sparked widespread condemnation. Yahya took to social media to address Barrack directly, delivering a passionate message that resonated with many viewers.
Yahya began his message by questioning Barrack’s self-awareness. “Before you walked into the press conference, did you look at yourself in the mirror?” he asked. He urged Barrack to reflect not on his physical appearance but on the “far uglier deformities” within himself, including “the lies, the hypocrisy, the cruelty, the hatred, the meanness, and the corruption.”
Yahya challenged Barrack’s understanding of the Middle East, stating, “You say there is no Middle East. There are tribes and villages.” He emphasized that while Barrack may have done his homework, he missed a crucial point: “We see you as the animal, Mr. Barrack.”

The True Nature of Humanity
Yahya continued to draw a stark contrast between animals and humans, asserting, “An animal eats to live. It does not scheme to starve entire populations.” He criticized the US envoy for justifying violence against innocent civilians, saying, “An animal wouldn’t legalize murder under the banner of politics.”
He further elaborated on the concept of loyalty, stating, “Animals are loyal. A dog never betrays its owner when that betrayal serves their agenda.” Yahya pointed out that Barrack’s actions contradict the very essence of loyalty and humanity. “You wouldn’t see an animal pose as humanitarian by day and slaughter the innocent by night,” he remarked.
A Call for Change
Yahya’s message extended beyond Barrack, addressing all those who look down on Muslims. He stated, “This message is not solely for you, Mr. Barrack. It’s for all those who belittle our bloodshed.” He urged them to confront their own societal issues, saying, “Turn instead to your own problems, your divided societies, your biased media, your crumbling systems.”
In a powerful conclusion, Yahya declared, “Your civilization is trembling. But don’t worry. We, the Muslims, got your back. Because Islam is the only way.” He ended his message with a traditional greeting, “Asalaamu Alaikum,” reinforcing his call for unity and understanding.
