According to the estimates of the labor force survey that the General Authority for Statistics conducts quarterly, the unemployment rate for all Saudis fell to 11% in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to 13% in the third quarter of the same year,

The results showed a decrease in the unemployment rate of Saudi males (15 years and over) in the fourth quarter of 2021 to reach (5.2%) compared to the third quarter of the same year, which amounted to 5.9%.

According to the findings of the bulletin, the unemployment rate of Saudi females (15 years and older) increased to 22.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021, up from 21.9 percent in the third quarter.

On the other hand, the whole population’s labor force participation rate (Saudis and non-Saudis aged 15 and up) grew in the fourth quarter of 2021, hitting 61.5 percent, up from 61.2 percent in the third quarter.

The whole male population (15 years and over) had a labor force participation rate of 79.5 percent, while the total female population (15 years and over) had a labor force participation rate of 34.9 percent, according to the bulletin’s findings.

The statistics also showed that the labor force participation rate for all Saudis (males and females 15 years and older) increased to 51.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021, up from 49.8 percent in the third quarter of the same year.
