Trump Thanks Saudi Arabia, Arab Leaders for Supporting Gaza Peace Plan

US President Donald Trump thanked Arab and Islamic leaders for supporting his plan to end the Gaza war, especially Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey, along with other leaders, according to the Saudi Gazette.

In a video uploaded to his Truth Social platform Friday evening, Trump described the day as a big day,” after Hamas announced that it agreed to some of the terms in his plan, including releasing hostages.

Hamas has responded to Trump’s 20-point plan after the president given a Sunday deadline to accept the proposal or face severe consequences.

Hamas said it “appreciates the Arab, Islamic, and international efforts, as well as the efforts of US President Donald Trump, calling for an end to the war on the Gaza Strip, the exchange of prisoners, (and) the immediate entry of aid,” among other terms.

However, the Palestinian group did not mention if it would approve the disarmament and the demilitarization of Gaza — conditions long sought by Israel and the US but consistently rejected by Hamas.

It also dismissed Israel’s proposal for a phased withdrawal, stressing its demand for an immediate and complete withdrawal.

The group said it was ready “to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats) based on Palestinian national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic backing.”
