Saudi, Greek Defense Ministers Discuss Iranian Attacks Repercussions in Riyadh
Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, met on Wednesday with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, in Riyadh to address the recent regional developments in light of the Iranian aggressions against neighboring countries.
During their meeting, Prince Khalid and Dendias discussed the latest developments in the Middle East amid the Iranian flagrant attacks on the Kingdom and several countries in the region.
Their talks also discussed the repercussions of these attacks on the international security and peace, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Furthermore, the two officials reviewed prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Greece in the military and defense sectors.
Several senior officials from both sides attended the meeting, including Saudi Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili and Greek Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Katerina Varvarigou.

The US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, 2026, eliminating its Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei along with several top commanders.
The attack triggered an Iranian response involving waves of drone and missile strikes that directly violated the sovereignty of several Arab States, including Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, Iraq and Jordan.
As a result, the UN Security Council and the UN Human Rights Council adopted resolutions strongly condemning Iran’s “egregious attacks” and demanding an end to “all unprovoked attacks” against Gulf States and Jordan.
GCC countries stressed their right to self-defense under international law and emphasized the need to be included in any potential negotiations aimed at settling the conflict.
