The Saudi Embassy in the Netherlands clarified the terms and conditions for citizens’ travel to more than one European country on what is known as “Schengen”.
This came in a series of tweets by the embassy, in which it said: “The embassy would like to draw the attention of the traveling citizens that if you want to visit more than one country in the Schengen area, you must submit your application to the embassy or consulate of the intended Schengen country.
It added: “If your main purpose of travel is the same for more than one country, for example on vacation, send the visa application to the embassy or consulate of the country in which you plan to stay longer.
“If you plan to spend an equal amount of time in each Schengen country, send your visa application to the embassy or consulate of the country you intend to visit first,” it said.
It continued, “be sure to keep a copy of the justifications you provided when applying for the visa, such as hotel reservations and medical insurance, Etc.”
