Saudi Crown Prince, Pakistani PM Explore Bilateral Cooperation

The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, met with the Pakistani Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During their meeting, the Saudi Crown Prince and the Pakistani Prime Minister reviewed the deeply-rooted historical relations between the two countries. They also explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various fields.

Furthermore, the two leaders discussed the latest regional and international developments.

According to the Pakistani government press release, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, investment, energy and defense sectors. They agreed to increase investments in key sectors and bolster defense and security cooperation.

Moreover, they agreed to collaborate at all levels to promote their shared vision for peace, stability and prosperity in the region. Both sides also emphasized the need to further enhance people-to-people ties, cultural exchanges, and educational collaboration.

Several senior Saudi officials attended the meeting, including the Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman; the Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan; the Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and National Security Advisor, Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban; and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Al-Malki.

The Pakistani Chief of the Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, also attended the meeting.
