Saudi Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser inaugurated the 6th edition of the Supply Chain and Logistics Conference 2024 at Riyadh’s Hilton Granada Hotel. The event brought together senior officials, executives, and representatives from prominent global and local organizations.
Al-Jasser emphasized the remarkable progress achieved in the Kingdom’s logistics and supply chain sectors under visionary leadership. This progress stems from strategic efforts aligned with the vision of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Kingdom’s advancements in container handling and global rankings for maritime connectivity were key highlights of Al-Jasser’s address. Saudi ports added 30 new shipping lines in 2024, further boosting international trade facilitation.
Investments Mark Sector Transformation
The establishment of 18 logistics zones with investments exceeding SAR 10 billion showcases global companies’ interest in Saudi Arabia. Al-Jasser noted that enhanced logistical capabilities have significantly bolstered the national economy.
The minister also praised the Master Plan for Logistics Centers and the Global Supply Chain Resilience Initiative launched by the Crown Prince. These initiatives reflect a focused strategy to solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub.
Milestones Mark the Conference’s Opening Day
The first day featured a ministerial panel with Al-Jasser, Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih, and Industry Minister Bandar Al-Khorayef. The panel explored logistics’ role in enhancing the Kingdom’s global competitiveness.
The event included the signing of 86 agreements, 12 keynote lectures, and exhibitions by 65 companies. Attendees explored innovative solutions like solar-powered vehicles and advanced e-commerce platforms designed to streamline shipment delivery processes.

The innovation corner highlighted cutting-edge solutions, empowering operational teams through omnichannel management and integrated shipping platforms. Workshops and lectures provided valuable insights for industry professionals.
