The Governor of the Saudi General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, officially inaugurated on Monday Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the Global Event for Defense and Security EUROSATORY 2024 in Paris.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Assistant Minister of Defense Eng. Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Saudi Ambassador to France Fahd bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaili, as well as other officials, investors, and decision-makers in the defense and security sector attended the opening ceremony.
Military Industries Achievements
During the ceremony, Al-Ohali reviewed the main exhibits and products participating in the Saudi pavilion. He also received a detailed briefing on the latest developments and achievements in the military industries sector, which includes the Saudi Ministry of Investment, represented by “Invest Saudi” platform; the General Authority for Defense Development (GADD); in addition to several major Saudi national institutions and companies specialized in the field of military industries.
These companies include the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI); Saudia Technic; Life Shield for military industries; Scopa Industries; Arabian International Co. for Steel Structures (AIC Steel); Saudi Leather Industries Company (SLIC); Al-Esnad for Military Supplies (AL-ESNAD); Khidmat Ray Manufacturing Co. (KRMC); and the World Defense Show (WDS).
The entities participating in Saudi Arabia’s pavilion display the accelerating steps taken to continue localizing and empowering the military industries sector. This sector is rich in local capabilities that meet the practical needs of the military agencies, within the framework of the rapid growth witnessed by the sector in attracting quality investments that effectively contribute to building a thriving economy and a sustainable industry.
Enhancing Cooperation
Eng. Al-Ohali confirmed that Saudi Arabia’s strategic participation in EUROSATORY aims to enable defense and security companies to meet investors interested in the quality opportunities the sector offers.
This goal is achieved through highlighting the attractive investment environment, exploring the prospects of international cooperation with the leading regional and international companies, as well as activating and supporting qualitative partnerships between local and international companies operating in the field of defense and security industries.
The Saudi military industries sector, represented by the GAMI and its strategic partners from the public and private sectors, seeks to reinforce cooperation and expertise exchange in order to achieve the sector’s strategic goal of localizing more than 50% of the Kingdom’s spending on military equipment and services by 2030.
The EUROSATORY, running from June 17-21, 2024, is the leading global land and air event for defense and security. The biennial event brings together over 2,000 exhibitors from 62 countries, and attracts 62,000 visitors from 150 countries.
