Intending to diversify its fleet of vehicles to be environmentally friendly, the Saudi government announced the signing of an agreement with Lucid Company to purchase electric vehicles with a minimum of 50,000 and a maximum of 100,000 vehicles within ten years.
This agreement is a significant step toward the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals, which include broad economic, social, and quality-of-life improvements.
The agreement also aligns with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Deputy Crown Prince’s Green Saudi Initiative and Green Middle East Initiative.
The Kingdom’s pick of Lucid Company, which plans to build a facility in Saudi Arabia to assemble automobiles will move on to full manufacturing in the future to boost local content,
Lucid plans to create up to 150,000 electric cars each year, making the Kingdom a major regional and worldwide hub for the next generation of electric vehicles.
