Riyadh Season Brings Pakistan to KSA

The “Pakistani Week” at Al Suwaidi Park during Riyadh Season witnessed a large turnout. Citizens and residents, particularly the Pakistani community, enjoyed the ambiance and activities. These included musical and theatrical performances, and a festival of Pakistani food, drinks, and clothing.

A Reporter’s Experience

A correspondent from “News 24” decided to immerse himself in this atmosphere. He visited Al Suwaidi Park, donning traditional Pakistani festival attire.

He observed the significant presence of Pakistani residents of various ages and backgrounds, feeling as if he were in the streets of Peshawar or Abbas Abad.

Traditional Attire and Accessories

“News 24” met with Sarah, a Riyadh-born Pakistani girl. She and her aunt sell traditional clothing, including shalwar, kameez, anarkali, and saree. They also offer accessories like the frequently worn ‘khalhal’ in Pakistan.

A Resident’s Perspective

Mohammed Asif, a Pakistani residing in Riyadh, described the event as “Mini Pakistan,” reflecting Pakistan’s heritage and culture. Moreover, Hidayatul Islam, a Pakistani resident in Riyadh for 22 years, attended with his family.

He appreciated seeing a part of his homeland in Riyadh. He highlighted Pakistan’s diverse languages, cultures, traditions, and tribes, noting similarities with Saudi social customs.
