Riyadh Commerce Chamber Honors Saudi womenpreneur Al-Jawhara Al-Otaishan
Riyadh Chamber of Commerce honored the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Sawahl Al-Jazeera Media Company, Ms. Al-Jawhara bint Turki Al–Otaishan, at the Al-Mishraq ceremony, which witnessed the first honorary meeting of womenpreneurs within the Ramadan meetings of the Riyadh Chamber, in the presence of a group of businessmen and women.
The honor was witnessed in the presence of the Chairman of the Riyadh Chamber Board of Directors, Mr. Ajlan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Ajlan. In addition, the Chair of the Businesswomen’s Committee, Ms. Abeer Al-Hawqal.
The ceremony took place at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in the VIP Hall on Thursday.
Ms. Latifa Al-Otaishan received the award on behalf of Ms. Al-Jawhara Al-Otaishan.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh Chamber, Professor Ajlan Al-Ajlan, confirmed that the support of wise leadership strengthened the status of Saudi women, who enjoyed the support of HRH Mohamed Bin Salman, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister through the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which opened all fields and activities to empower women and gave them more job opportunities.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the head of the Businesswomen’s Committee, Ms. Abeer Al-Hawqal said that the Businesswomen’s Committee is proud to launch the first season to honor womenpreneurs.
She further noted that the honoring will continue to include all businesswomen throughout the Kingdom.
“The honoring comes in appreciation of the economic role of Saudi women and highlights it in line with the Kingdom’s vision in 2030, and aims to shed light on the women’s business sector and its inherent role in supporting the national economy, stressing that such meetings stimulate integration between businessmen and women and build an effective business network.” She added.
The Al-Mishraq meeting aims to activate the role of chambers of commerce in supporting businesswomen and their presence in various commercial sectors and activities, according to Ms. Abeer Al-Hawqal.
Al-Jawhara Al-Otaishan was honored for being one of the most prominent and pioneering businesswomen of her generation. In 2001, she began working in the media industry.
For her part, Ms. Al-Jawhara Al–Otaishan expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Riyadh Commerce Chamber, represented by the Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors, Mr. Ajlan Al-Ajlan, and the Chair of the Businesswomen’s Committee, Ms. Abeer Al-Hawqal, for honoring her.
Al–Otaishan stressed that this honor is the culmination of more than 20 years in publishing, media, public relations, artistic production, and e-marketing.
Ms. Al-Jawhara said that she has been keen over the past decades to maximize professional media work and keep pace with the new digital media, as well as to strengthen the Sawahl Media Company, which she owns, as a specialized firm in diverse and unique media services in the content industry, as well as leadership in the media field and strategic planning based on elaborate scientific foundations.
Al-Otaishan stated that Sawahl Al-Jazeera aims to consolidate the idea of “entrepreneurship” and the culture of “new diversified media work” in Saudi Arabia and MENA through its work in the field of marketing communications and strategic planning (publishing, public relations, designing knowledge programs) while providing services to all customers at home and abroad.
She said that Sawahl Al-Jazeera – established 20 years ago – is the only media and advertising agency in the region specialized in entrepreneurship & SME media.
