Messi arrives in Saudi Arabia on a "tourist" visit, receives an official welcome

Press reports revealed that Argentine star Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player, arrived in Saudi Arabia on a private visit, accompanied by his family. He is scheduled to visit tourist and archaeological sites.

And Saudi Arabia announced, during the past year, an agreement with Lionel Messi to become an ambassador for tourism in the Kingdom.

Messi has already participated in a publicity campaign promoting tourist attractions in Saudi Arabia. He published a picture of Saudi Arabia’s landscape on his Instagram account.

The Saudi newspaper, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, commented on the arrival of Argentine world champion Messi, the current Paris Saint-Germain player, in a post-broadcast on the “Instagram” site about nature in Saudi Arabia, saying, “Who would have expected Saudi Arabia to be green in this way? I like to explore its unexpected wonders whenever I can.”

The sports journalist behind the asteroid published a video on his Twitter account, monitoring Messi’s presence at the airport in Saudi Arabia. Messi was accompanied by his wife and children. He commented, “The legend of Messi will visit historical and tourist places in Saudi Arabia before returning to Paris.”

Messi previously visited Saudi Arabia as its ambassador in May 2022 and then visited the city of Jeddah. During his visit, he explored the Red Sea treasures, the Jeddah season, and its ancient history.

Messi was recently linked with a transfer to Saudi club Al-Hilal, where the club seeks to include him in the coming period. This is especially true since Messi’s contract with his Parisian team ends at the end of the current season.

Messi did not agree with Paris Saint-Germain to extend the contract between the two parties. However, the French team pressured the Argentine star to stay in Paris.

While press reports claimed that Al Hilal’s offer to Messi included an annual salary of 400 million euros, making him the highest-paid player in football history.
