Madinah Prepares for Ramadan
The Municipality of the Madinah Region has announced its readiness to welcome the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1445H. Crown Prince Mohammed bun Salman bin Abdulaziz along with the direct supervision of Medina’s municipal secretary Fahad Al Buliheshi supervise preparation of Ramadan. Madinah’s Preparation for Ramadan aims to offer the best municipal services to the city’s residents, visitors, and expatriates.
Madinah’s Preparation for Ramadan: Ensuring Food Safety & Public Health
A significant focus of the preparations involves monitoring food and commercial establishments around the Prophet’s Mosque and historic mosques. Efforts also aim at reducing street vending, maintaining public cleanliness, and caring for environmental health. The plan covers pest control, service center oversight, road, tunnel, bridge maintenance, and highway monitoring to Madinah. Over 8000 personnel and 800+ pieces of equipment have been deployed to ensure top food safety and water quality standards.
Cleaning & Pest Control Operations
The total workforce dedicated to cleanliness has reached 4,543 workers, equipped with over 600 cleaning devices. Several transitional waste collection stations within the subsidiary municipalities’ scope have been activated. Additionally, Special pest control teams, totaling 336 workers and equipped with over 75 machines and vehicles, conduct preventive operations. All teams work in two shifts, with cleaning crews operating 24/7 in congested areas where vehicle movement is difficult.
Madinah’s Preparation for Ramadan: Environmental Health & Safety
The municipality has established several field committees to perform regulatory rounds in commercial markets and food sales outlets. Moreover, these committees actively take and test samples in the municipality’s laboratories. The operational plan for Ramadan focuses on scheduling to monitor various projects, supervising contractors and investors contracted with the municipality, and forming technical teams to oversee street maintenance, lighting networks, tunnels, bridges, and stormwater drainage systems, ensuring their effectiveness in case of emergencies.
Public Cooperation & Reporting
Madinah invites everyone to cooperate and actively report violations or observations through nine municipal platforms. Furthermore, the 940 call center is available for prompt reporting, enabling quick actions and remedies. This inclusive approach underscores the municipality’s commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for all during Ramadan 1445H.
