List of Most and Least Prices of Products after 15% of the VAT in Saudi
The General Authority for Statistics issued the statistical bulletin of average prices of goods and services for the month of July 2020 compared to the previous month, and highlighted the goods and services that recorded the largest increase and those that recorded the largest decrease during July.
The report classified goods and services into five categories: (food commodities, non-food commodities, services, fodder and live animals, construction goods).
The report is a monitoring of the prices of goods and services during the first month of raising the value-added tax from 5% to 15%, which began to be applied on July 1, 2020, to protect the Kingdom’s economy and overcome the repercussions of the financial and economic crisis resulting from the Corona pandemic.
(Green beans, local fresh milk (al-Safi), fava beans (California gardens), family soft sugar), local lettuce) came as the highest food commodities, while (local grapes, Chinese tomatoes, local honey (watermelon), Indian cardamom, Lebanese grapes) are the most food commodities whose prices have decreased.
As for non-food items, (Clorox washing medicine) the highest percentage was recorded.
As for services, the report indicated that the most that achieved the highest rate of increase is (furnished apartments), and the lowest ones are (party and wedding expenses).
As for the elements that were higher in feed and live animals, they were (cubes, imported barley, alfalfa, Naomi sheep, and free sheep).
The report also indicated that among the construction commodities were (national 8 mm steel reinforcement, national 10 mm steel reinforcement, 20 cm black block, national gypsum, black block 15) the highest.
