King Salman calls for a political settlement to the crisis in Yemen

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman called for the start of the political process between the Yemeni government and the Houthis in a way that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty.

In a speech to the Shura Council, King Salman said, “We hope that the truce sponsored by the UN, in line with the Kingdom’s initiative to end the crisis in Yemen, will lead to a comprehensive political solution and achieve sustainable peace between the brothers in Yemen.”

“We affirm the Kingdom’s keenness and support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in a way that achieves security and stability for Yemen and its brotherly people,” he added.

King Salman asserted Saudi firm and supportive position for everything that contributes to a permanent ceasefire and the start of the political process between the Yemeni government and the Houthis.
