King Salman and Crown Prince enrol for organ donation
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have enrolled in the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT) as a humanitarian gesture from the leadership, encouraging all citizens and residents to do the same. Such donation is of great importance in giving hope to patients whose lives depend on the transplantation of a new organ.
King Salman had worked to establish SCOT – formerly the National Center for Kidneys – out of a sense of the increasing number of patients suffering from kidney failure.
It is essential to expand the circle of organ donation and give hope to those on waiting lists. The initiative also promotes one of the most critical forms of solidarity known to Saudi society, enhances public health levels, and increases the efficiency of the medical sector in conducting these complex operations, thus raising their success rates in the future.
