Israel Forces Activists on ‘Madleen’ Aid Ship to Sign Illegal Entry Documents

Yasemin Ajar, a German activist aboard Madleen -a ship that had previously attempted to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza- said that Israeli government forced the activists to sign a document stating that they had entered the country illegally, according to Al-Jazeera.

In a video that went viral on social media, Ajar said that Israel has kidnapped them and prevented them from delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

“We were kidnapped and intercepted in international waters, 100 nautical miles from Israeli territories. We should not go to Israel, we were going to Gaza, which is an occupied territory,” she said.

She also described intercepting Madleen aid ship as a violation of international law.

‘Madleen’ Aid Ship

On June 1, Ajar and other pro-Palestinian activists including climate campaigner Greta Thunberg sailed to Gaza to deliver some aids to Palestinians who are starving due to Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid.

However, Israeli forces have taken control of Madleen yacht and detained activists on board.

“I refused to sign because I will not sign a paper that bears a lie. We will stay with the truth; Israel is the one who lies. It is the one who continues to kill children. It is the one who starves children to this day,” the activist added.

She demanded the German government to do what it has to send aid and to stop sending weapons to Israel.

“You are responsible, Germany. You are responsible for starving children. You have blood in your hands. I will continue. It does not matter what the Israeli government has done with us. It is not worse than what it is doing to the people of Gaza,” she added.

Call to Stop Genocide

Moreover, she said that Israel’s naval blockade and horrible genocide must stop now.

“Starvation is a crime and genocide is crime. Israel must stop what it is doing. Germany and all complicit countries must stop now or we will continue. We will defy the blockade. We will never stop. Israel will never stop us,” Ajar said.

By the middle of June 2025, Isarel had deported all the activists of Madleen aid ship, operated by activist group Freedom Flotilla Coalition.
