Hajj 2025: SDAIA Boosts Makkah Route Initiative with Technical Services
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has supported 11 international airports across seven countries under the Makkah Route Initiative with cutting-edge digital technologies powered by data and artificial intelligence (AI), reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Saudi Interior Ministry implements the Makkah Route Initiative 1446 AH/2025, in collaboration with multiple governmental agencies to streamline travel procedures for pilgrims, from the moment they departure their home countries until they arrive in Saudi Arabia’s airports, perform Hajj, and return back.
In the light of this, SDAIA technical team automatically monitors the initiative’s systems and workstations across the 11 airports to ensure operational continuity and smoothness, as well as providing continued technical support to tackle emergencies, hence ensuring the highest levels of performance and integration.
Moreover, SDAIA equipped biometric registration stations for pilgrims at the airports with the latest technologies to provide integrated services for the initiative’s beneficiaries. It also deployed mobile workstations, and equipped the technical infrastructure to the highest standards to ensure the readiness of all entry points and the rapid completion of procedures, in accordance with its operational plan.
Additionally, SDAIA conducted several high availability tests for all systems and technical devices to ensure their efficiency. It also finished technical integration with all relevant entities for swift and efficient procedural integration and biometric registration.
SDAIA aims to integrate with all relevant government agencies during Hajj 2025 to provide the best services for pilgrims, in line with the directives of Saudi Arabia’s leadership, which prioritizes pilgrims’ services under the Pilgrim Experience Program, one of Saudi Vision 2030 programs.
