Diriyah Gate Development Authority Hosts 2nd Global Seminar on Cultural Heritage
The Diriyah Gate Development Authority inaugurated the second Diriyah Global Seminar yesterday, themed “Timeless Knowledge.” Titled “Crossroads of Trade and Tradition: Diriyah and Central Arabia’s Role in Global Exchange,” the event was graced by the presence of the Governor of Diriyah, Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki.
A concurrent exhibition, “Caravans of Memories,” is being held at the Bujairi Terrace and will run until December 15. This year’s seminar highlights three key themes:
- Tangible Heritage of Trade – Exploring archaeological, architectural, and environmental legacies that underscore Diriyah’s historical role as a trading center.
- Intangible Heritage – Offering interactive experiences, including recordings of oral history, traditional poetry, and folk songs, to showcase the rich artistic expressions and Najdi traditions that positioned Diriyah as a commercial hub.
- Textual Heritage – Examining manuscripts, travel writings, and linguistic evolutions that document the historical and cultural narratives of Diriyah and Central Arabia.
