Abdulaziz bin Salman: We wasted 40 years & we won’t waste more

Saudi Energy Minister HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said during the ministers’ dialogue session, in conjunction with the launch of the national strategy for the industry, that we have wasted 40 years, during which Saudi Arabia could have been like India and China in the field of industry, and now we have decided not to waste another time so we launched the national strategy for the industry.

He added that the investments will contribute to the establishment of factories to benefit from them in resettlement, pointing out that the national strategy for the industry is a joint collective action from which the ego has been removed, and the work of the ministries individually is over, and we produce 38 tons in the manufacturing industries and we only benefit from 6 million.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman continued: We have an ambitious program to develop the gas industry. There are recently discovered fields that are currently under development and production.

When SABIC started, the petrochemical industry was limited, “We will implement projects in the electricity generation, transmission and distribution sector, which may reach one trillion riyals, and solar energy is a gift from God to Saudi Arabia.” We are proud that we are in a country where we feel that what we say will be implemented. In the national strategy for the industry, we focus on promoting investments and localization, and without sustainable development, we will not have an opportunity.”
