Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, has held a series of strategic bilateral meetings with the CEOs of top global gaming and tech companies in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the New Global Sport Conference 2025 (NGSC 2025), taking place in Saudi Arabia’s capital on August 23-24.
The discussions focused on bolstering partnerships to advance the localization of tech industries and support Saudi creative content in order to drive the digital economy and build a thriving gaming and Esports sector aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
In the light of this, Al-Swaha met with the president of SEGA Corporation, Shuji Utsumi, to draw on the company’s expertise in developing local projects and fostering local talents, further consolidating the Kingdom’s status as a global hub for Esports.
The Saudi Minister also met with the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, to explore ways to develop advanced digital experiences that contribute to advancing the localization of the gaming industry.
Furthermore, Al-Swaha discussed avenues for cooperation to develop an integrated ecosystem that combines fostering local talent and hosting major Esports championships with the CEO of Riot Games, Dylan Jadeja.
Al-Swaha also met with Amazon Vice President, Steve Boom, exploring ways to boost cooperation in Esports industry and live streaming platforms.
In a meeting with Electronic Arts (EA) Chief Business Officer, Paul Cairns, Al-Swaha discussed ways to enhance partnership to build digital sports communities. He also discussed local talent empowerment initiatives with the CFO of Epic Games, Randy Gelber.
