Bahrain Advance to the 26th Gulf Cup Final with Narrow Win over Kuwait

Bahrain’s national team secured a spot in the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup final with a 1-0 victory over Kuwait in the tournament’s semifinal at Jaber Al-Ahmed International Stadium in Kuwait City on Tuesday.

Striker Mohamed Marhoon scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute, propelling Bahrain to their sixth final appearance in tournament history.

Bahrain win despite red card

Despite being reduced to 10 men after forward Mahdi Abdul-Jabbar received a red card for a second bookable offense in the 52nd minute, Bahrain held on to claim the hard-fought win.

The Pearl Divers now aim to clinch their second Gulf Cup title, with their first triumph coming in 2019.

They will face Oman in the final on Saturday after the Reds secured their place with a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia in Tuesday’s other semifinal.
