Riyadh Launches GEG 2023

Yesterday, Riyadh officially launched the GEG 2023 esports event, according to Sabq. Organized by the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation in partnership with the Global Esports Federation, this event marks its third year.
Duration and Participation
Spanning from December 12 to 16, GEG 2023 features over 240 players from more than 50 countries.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony included a keynote by Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation. He emphasized Riyadh’s ambition to be a global esports hub, uniting professional players and experts.
Moreover, he pointed out that these games are more than just competitions; however, they are growth stimulators and a meeting point for all talents.
Prince Faisal’s Vision
Prince Faisal highlighted the event’s significance in global esports. He described it as a celebration of the sector’s importance and growth, transcending mere competition.
Global Unity and Talent Showcase
Chris Chan, President of the Global Esports Federation, emphasized the event’s role in fostering community connection worldwide. He praised the opportunity it presents for showcasing talent and fostering international unity.
Saudi Arabia’s Prowess in Esports
Abdullah AlNassr, Director of Professional Competitions at the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation, remarked on Saudi Arabia’s capacity to host such significant global events. He stressed the importance of collaboration for the sustainable success of esports. He expressed the Kingdom’s delight to host the best players from all over the world to leave an ever-lasting influence in this field.
