New Al-Jouf International Airport Welcomes First Travelers

The new Al-Jouf International Airport commenced operations, receiving its first flight on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Al-Jouf International Airport is one of the Second Airports Cluster that underwent a total operational transfer from the old facility.

The new airport boasts a capacity of 1.6 million passengers annually, compared to only 175,000 passengers per year for the old airport – marking over 800% capacity growth.

Furthermore, the design of the passenger terminal at the new Al-Jouf International Airport aligns with the latest international standards.

Spanning an area of 24,000 square meters, it features 16 check-in counters (including two for self-service), along with 11 arrival and departure gates and five dual-sided passport control desks. The terminal also includes 648 parking spaces and a diverse range of integrated facilities and services.

The terminal’s design draws inspiration from Al-Jouf‘s heritage and cultural identity. Moreover, it includes around 5,000 square meters of green spaces adorned with the region’s famous olive trees.
