100 Saudi Organ Donors Awarded King Abdulaziz Medal of Third Class

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, has approved granting 100 citizen donors the King Abdulaziz Medal of the third degree because they donated one of their main organs.

A Saudi organ donation card is the idea of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him.

 

This initiative aims to encourage the Saudi Arabian population to fill out a donation form. This will enable the individual to pledge to donate organs to a patient in need of an organ transplant after the death of the donor. The deceased’s family will be able to donate the deceased’s organs in accordance with his religious beliefs.

 

The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation also introduced the card and distributed it at various national, social, and scientific events.

 

It aims to encourage the population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to fill out a donation form that allows the individual to pledge to donate organs to a patient in need of an organ transplant after the death of the donor, which makes it easier for the families of the deceased giving consent to donate the organs of the deceased’s relatives according to his personal desire.

 

 

The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation also introduces the card and distributes it at various national, social, and scientific events.

 

The organ donation card is an expression of the donor’s desire to donate his organs and is not considered a compulsory document for taking organs during life or after death, which makes it easier for the deceased’s family to give approval for organ donation.

 

According to The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, anyone can express his desire to donate organs, but in order to achieve this, the following conditions must be met:

 

The donor must be physically healthy and psychologically stable. He must be at least 18 years old. He should not be addicted to drugs or alcohol. He can change his wish whenever he wants.

 

The entered personal data is kept in the custody of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation and is subject to the center’s privacy policy.
