The Kingdom’s ambassador in Beirut: Saudi Arabia’s security is a red line
The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Walid al-Bukhari, confirmed the security of his country is a red line. He wrote on his Twitter account: “The security of the Kingdom under our wise leadership is a red line, and it is unacceptable to harm it.” He added that the recent smuggled from Lebanon is sufficient to flood the Arab world with drugs and psychotropic substances.
Yesterday, the Lebanese authorities stressed their adherence to the best relations with the Kingdom and the strictness in combating drug smuggling.
The Presidency of the Republic also announced that it had requested the prosecution to pursue investigations in Saudi Arabia. The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, expressed hopes that the Kingdom would reconsider the ban on importing Lebanese vegetables and fruits. He assigned the Minister of Interior to coordinate the detection of drug traffickers and to prevent the recurrence of such smuggling operations.
