Saudi Ports announces linking King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with India and Iraq
The Saudi Ports Authority Mawani announced today, Tuesday, that BTL has added the new freight service “ISI” to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
This step aims to provide first-class shipping services to regional and international customers.
This came in order to achieve the authority’s strategic objective.
KSA aims to improve the index linking the maritime navigation network with international shipping services.
This step is consistent with the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics.
It also establishes the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center and a hub linking three continents.
The new service will link King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam with one ship to the Indian ports of Mondra and Umm Qasr.
This linking will be starting from February 19, 2023, and the capacity will be 929 TEU.
“Mwani” announced during the month of January 2023 the addition of main shipping lines.
it stated also that it will add 5 new services in several ports.
This will contribute to the unification of the Kingdom with 43 ports from all over the world.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam is witnessing continuous development programs.
Its continued success has increased efficiency, ensuring qualitative confirmation of its operational and logistical capabilities.
This development has cemented KSA’s position in the 14th position globally in the CPPI published by the World Bank.
King Abdul Aziz Port is distinguished by its location as the main port of the Kingdom on the coast of the Arabian Gulf and an integrated commercial window linking the Kingdom with the world.
The area of King Abdul Aziz Port is 19 km2, the presence of 43, and it contains basins with a capacity of 105 million tons.
