The Saudi Armed Forces have participated in the “Bright Star 2025” exercise that kicked off in August 30, in Egypt, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Head of the Armed Forces Training and Development Authority Major General Adel bin Mohammed Al-Balawi noted that the exercise seeks basically to foster military cooperation, promote joint operational concepts, and enhance the readiness and operational coordination of the participating forces.
Through a vast array of command post exercises, field operations, as well as naval drills, the “Bright Star 2025” exercise aims to increase the skills of commanders and staff in planning, executing, and leading joint operations.
Held at Mohamed Naguib Military Base and several air and naval bases, the exercise features joint operations in counterterrorism, irregular warfare, logistics support, medical evacuation, and maritime security, including amphibious operations.
Moreover, the activities include live-fire exercises and drills designed to simulate strategic mobility and enhance rapid response to emergency situations.
With the participation of the armed forces of several neighboring countries, the exercise aims to enhance the efficiency of unit coordination, while testing command, control, and communication systems at multiple levels.
