Saudi Arabia to allow one million pilgrims for Hajj 2022
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated at the start of this week that the number of pilgrims for the year 2022 has climbed to one million from both within and outside the Kingdom.
“Based on the permanent keenness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the safety of pilgrims of the House of God and visitors of the Mustafa Mosque, peace, and blessings be upon him, and to ensure pilgrims’ safety and security, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s interest in the regularity of the pilgrimage, and the empowerment of the largest number of Muslims around the world,” the ministry said in a statement.
The number of pilgrims for this year’s Hajj season, 1443 AH / 2022 has increased to one million.
Hajj pilgrims from both inside and beyond the Kingdom, according to quotas assigned to countries and health recommendations.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Hajj season this year would be governed by the following rules:
This year’s pilgrimage is restricted to those under the age of 65, with the proviso that they have received all basic doses of Covid-19 immunizations permitted by the Ministry of Health.
Those traveling to the Kingdom for Hajj from outside the Kingdom must produce a negative PCR test result for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) for a sample collected within 72 hours of their departure date.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah underlined in their statement the importance for pilgrims to adopt preventative measures and preventive recommendations while completing their rites to safeguard their health and safety.
