Saudi Arabia Keeps the Restricted Precautions as Fighting against COVID-19 Continues Even in Ramadan
After the announcement of King Salman about extending the curfew until further notice, the government of Saudi Arabia is imposing social distancing, and it is restricting all possible gatherings, like weddings, parties, meetings, conferences, …etc. And even in religious events. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, has declared that “the five prayers and Tarawih will be hanged during Ramadan until the pandemic is over.” This declaration is changing the way that Muslims have used to welcome Ramadan.
With all these restrictions, the government is continuing to arrest anyone who violates the precaution instructions, and those who violate will be forced to pay a financial penalty of SR 10,000, and it can exceed this amount depending on the case. Not only that, but also the Saudi government is keeping the efforts to settle down all the ways that can lead to a collective fear and panic.
The current statistics of Saudi Arabia on Sunday 12 of April 2020 are showing that the confirmed cases have reached 4,033, of which 720 have recovered, and 52 have passed away.
