The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces continuous commitment of heinous war crimes in Gaza without deterrence. The latest of these crimes was the discovery of mass graves in the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, reported Al Arabiya.
Palestinian civil defense crews discovered this mass grave on Saturday, April 20 and were able to recover 283 bodies. The identity of the people buried in this grave is not known yet.
Before uncovering this mass grave, another one was found at al-Shifa Hospital, following the two-week siege imposed by Israel’s army.
The Ministry affirmed that the failure of the international community to activate accountability mechanisms towards the Israeli occupation’s violations of the rules of international law will only result in more violations and exacerbation of humanitarian tragedies and destruction.
It renewed Saudi Arabia’s demand that the international community assume its responsibility to stop the Israeli occupation’s attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip and hold it accountable for the massacres it committed.
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, confirmed in statements to Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath that Saudi Arabia is more optimistic about the stability and security of the region’s countries.
Farhan made the statements on the sidelines of the opening of the high-level forum on security and regional cooperation between the Gulf states and the European Union, held in Luxembourg.
Farhan arrived in Luxembourg to participate in the EU-GCC forum on security and cooperation. Foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the European Union also attended the forum.
Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, said that EU-GCC forum is an opportunity to enhance dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the European Union. Moreover, it will continue strengthening coordination on issues related to regional and global stability and security.
Al-Budaiwi stressed that the two sides will work together to strengthen bilateral relations and develop new cooperation mechanisms. Thus, this will contribute to unifying viewpoints between the GCC countries and the European Union on many issues and files.
