“Mubseroon” Initiative to Distribute Braille Versions of Quran at Grand Mosque

The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the “Mubseroon” initiative to distribute Braille versions of the Quran during the final ten days of Ramadan in the Grand Mosque.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this initiative is a key element in the Presidency’s plan to create a spiritual atmosphere and boost the religious experience of visually impaired individuals who have come to the Grand Mosque from all around the world during the holy month of Ramadan.

The main objective of “Mubseroon” initiative is to provide assistance to visually impaired individuals in reciting the Quran and make sure they receive the highest level of care and services.

For this purpose, the Presidency has activated an electronic Quran device that makes it easy for visually impaired individuals to read, contemplate and interpret the Quran in Braille.

This device provides a dynamic display of Braille cells, aligning them with the verses, Arabic letters, and page numbers of the Quran, encouraging active engagement with the Quran.

This new device echoes the ‘Mushaf’ of the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, with a design that enables easy and quick access to pages, chapters, and parts of the ‘Mushaf’. Therefore, it provides the complete text of the Quran.

Throughout Ramadan, the Presidency has remained committed to keeping pace with digital transformation, in conformity with the aspirations of the wise leadership. It has used modern technology, digital applications, and artificial intelligence to improve the religious services provided to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan.

As part of these efforts, guidance robots have been activated to help and guide Umrah performers and visitors in understanding the rituals, by providing simultaneous translation in multiple languages.

The Presidency has carried out numerous religious activities during Ramadan. More activities are being held in the last ten days of the holy month, which see an influx of Umrah performers and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, who come to witness ‘Laylat Al-Qadr’.

To promote moderation and religious awareness among the growing number of Umrah performers, the Presidency also activated the “Digital Bags” program, which presents booklets by well-known scholars and Islamic preachers to Umrah performers during the final ten days of Ramadan.

Visitors can easily download the “Digital Bags” program by scanning the barcode of the desired booklet, browsing its content and sharing it with other people.
