Sports Min. Initiates 2nd Phase of Sports Clubs’ Privatization Project

Today, the Ministry of Sports, in coordination with the National Center for Privatization, announced the initiation of the second phase of the sports clubs’ privatization project, reported Saudi Press Agency.

Project’s Objectives

 

This project, launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, aims to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. Moreover, it aims to stimulate the private sector’s participation in building and developing the sports sector, which is expected to benefit national teams and sports clubs in particular.

The second phase of the project includes registering the interest of local and international entities wishing to invest in sports clubs. This step is the starting point for the bidding process. Interested parties that want to invest in sports clubs can visit the Ministry’s website to register the necessary data.

It’s worth noting that the investment and privatization project for sports clubs, announced last June, is based on three strategic and fundamental objectives. These include providing an attractive environment for investment in the sports sector to achieve a sustainable sports economy, achieving organization, and enhancing the level of professionalism, administrative, and financial governance in sports clubs.

Additionally, the project aims to develop infrastructure, which positively reflects on improving the sports fans’ experience.
