ANTONIO GUTERRES PRAISES SAUDI ARABIA

Calling all sides to prioritize the Yemeni people’s needs above “any other considerations,” United Nation’s Secretary General Antonio Guterres praised Saudi Arabia’s initiative to end the fighting and the proposal for a ceasefire to the years long war in Yemen.

On Monday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed a proposal for a ceasefire in Yemen. The new proposal would include a nationwide ceasefire to be implemented under UN.

The Secretary General appreciated the announcement by the Kingdom to restart the political process in Yemen.

As per a UN official, the Secretary General thanked Saudi Arabia for its efforts and support.
