What Is International Woman’s Day?

International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8th annually, is a global day acknowledging the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Originating from early 20th century labor movements, the day now universally celebrates women’s achievements across economic, political, and social spheres. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and the importance of creating a more inclusive, gender-equal world. Events such as marches, talks, seminars, art exhibits, and social media campaigns are held worldwide.
